My sickness is not caused by fever nor malaria but by the
way and manner the change been clamoured for is now wailing for freedom in the
hands of the people whom we entrusted to be the crop of savior. with intense
happiness, Nigerians celebrated the emergence of the new era led by president
Muhammadu Buhari with the hope and relaxed mind to dry the tears of the poor
masses and render social amenities like good roads, electricity, health and
employment opportunity to aid even and rapid development and perhaps revive the
sectors jeopardized by corruption.
To be frank, it is
too early to predict the future of this new government and at the same time, it
is too early for the new government to have recorded any brawl and skirmish at
the national assembly. Is this the type of change we want in Nigeria? It is
pitiable that the ship of change is yet to move and it has started to develop
faults. This country had suffered a lot in the hands of the corrupt leaders who
had exploited and looted the country's fund and the evil tide seems to go on
exile with the emergence of the new president who had once ruled the country
during the military regime but ironically, the transformation agenda is being
transformed to another dimension as the national assembly witnessed her first
annual conflict since the emergence of the new president. I don't ever think
this kind of irritable kerfuffle could happened so early at the national
assembly in president Muhammadu Buhari's tenure as i recorded my first
disappointment in his tenure and moreso, i keep asking myself why serving people should lead to conflict.
It was very obvious
that a line quoted from the national
pledge " To serve our father land" has turned to fighting and tearing
clothes for pocket right. The leaders that were elected to lead by example are
now disgracing and embarrassing the country and marring the already marred
reputation of Nigeria political system. I think Mr president is like a sheep
amidst wolves. When will Nigerians are going to bade farewell to looters as
leaders? When are we going to be free from nefarious grandeur? If the slew of
immoral act by the so call leaders stand still without resolution, the sailor
is verily embarking on a fruitless journey that can never change anything
despite the great expectation on him to move the sunk ship closer to the
promised land. Now over to the Mr President to act fast in delivering the
wailing change from the wolfs before tearing it into pieces. God bless Nigeria.
