THE BOOM DEMON

"Die, so life wouldn't be hard to live with."
Mama breathed out her last to me.
Mine is a tale to tell and a shred too dreadful to share.
Yee-ha!
Yee-ha!
I watched him ride my mama maliciously every night.
His definition of defense against accusation was never diction, only friction;
Between mama's black ringed eyes and his fist.
Still, she saw sunrise in his sunset, that fool mama of mine..
And my questioning mind she'd feed with lies of smiles.
Till I was summoned from sleep someday in September;
By the terror of the boom demon, the horrid horse rider had lost the horsepower.
I saw him spew red;
And the details of the tale longer than the tiger's tail;
Mama sang to me, whilst she answered the call to glory.....
